LINCOLN and FORD REACQUIRED VEHICLE PROGRAM

White Bear Lincoln is one of the select few dealerships nationwide participating
in the Ford Motor Company's Manufacturer Buy-Back/Lemon Law Program

These Reacquired Vehicles are available at significantly reduced prices compared to their retail value. Ford has bought them back from the original owners, conducted thorough inspections, and made all necessary repairs. Vehicles that cannot be fully repaired by the factory are recycled and never offered for public sale. The good news for our customers is that these Reacquired Vehicles come with either the balance of the original Ford factory warranty or a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty, whichever is longer. All vehicles in this program were originally sold as new but were returned to the manufacturer because they did not conform to Ford's express warranty. This occurred either because the nonconformity was not fixed within a reasonable time, or the vehicle was repaired but the original customer remained unsatisfied.

MYTH: All reacquired vehicles are defective.

FACTS: While it's true that vehicles repurchased by a manufacturer may require repairs for issues, that is not always the case. Manufacturers often repurchase vehicles as a goodwill gesture to maintain a valued relationship with loyal customers. Sometimes, parts may not have been available in a timely manner to fix a minor problem, leading customers to request a buyback. Additionally, there are instances where buyers may exaggerate issues to take advantage of "Lemon Laws." Of course, there are also times when a vehicle has a legitimate mechanical problem needing attention. Regardless of the reason for the buyback, when a true issue exists, the manufacturer is legally required to correct it before the vehicle is offered for resale.

MYTH: What if the problem isn't fixed?

FACTS: The last thing a manufacturer wants is to repurchase a vehicle. However, when a repurchase is necessary, the manufacturer is committed to resolving the problem to protect its reputation. Rest assured that any reacquired vehicle is thoroughly inspected to ensure the original issue has been addressed and that the vehicle is in excellent condition before it is approved for resale. As mentioned, the balance of the factory warranty remains, and a new 12-month/12,000-mile warranty begins the day you purchase the vehicle. With this coverage and the option to extend it further, buyers can be confident their vehicle meets or exceeds all manufacturer standards.

MYTH: It would be hard to resell a reacquired vehicle, especially if it is marked on the title.

FACTS: We are here to assist you when you're ready to sell or trade your reacquired vehicle. Our expertise in this area allows us to maximize trade value effectively. When the time comes to sell or trade in your reacquired vehicle, you should anticipate receiving a discounted price, just as you benefited from a lower price when you purchased it.

MYTH: Other dealers have told me to never buy a reacquired vehicle. Why?

FACTS: Keep in mind that automotive sales is a competitive industry, and not all dealers are equipped to offer repurchased vehicles. As a result, some dealers may discourage you from considering these vehicles to obscure their true value. At White Bear Lincoln, we strive to provide you with all the facts and offer the finest vehicles representing the best value. We believe in empowering you to make informed decisions.
